My point is, with the LED lights the amp draw is minimal. We did not have a winch on it so it did not have that kind of draw on the battery. (After I got it completed, it was out of my hands and left to the Aux unit commander who didn't know better) Left sitting in unheated storage over the winter and charged up in the spring. Never hooked up to a charger and started all summer when needed. The Aux unit used it at the county fair and on the streets during the annual "cruise night" It would run for hours at a time, then get stuffed back into the ambulance. It was and still is as far as I know stored in the Auxiliary unit's converted ambulance. Striping and signage and it looked pretty good at the end. There were 6 or 8 Lights on both front and back. Although LEDs were not that common at the time, we were able to find individual red and blue LED lights and painted it black and white. The Chief at the the time gave me the task of "make it look like a squad car". About 10 or 12 years before I retired, my department took possession of a Honda foreman 400 that was seized from a farmer who was growing weed in his cornfields. Do a google search for the company to locate their site. All their kits are assembled here in the US. This company is the ONLY company that has designed a UTV isolator from the ground up not just repackaged an automotive or marine product. I personally recommend that you use their kits as the cables are the best built quality American made. The best news is that their UTV-SBI-15 Isolator can be purchased for under $60 and kits including the isolator and connecting cables Start in the mid $80 range. True Amalgamated, who is the manufacturer, has a very nice site but you would have to follow the dealer links to purchase as the site is for "dealer only" sales. You can find them at many UTV dealers, request that your dealer handle them or at least order one for you or if you prefer to DIY you can find on ebay, Amazon and other various sites through out the net. The new True branded UTV-SBI-15 Smart Battery Isolator products are simply the most efficient and absolute best product for our application. A diode type Isolator would rob your system of valuable voltage as well as not provide the efficiency or longevity that you would want for a UTV application. Click to expand. The True Smart Battery Isolator definitely DOES NOT use any type of diode and the company makes no such claim.
